WE COME IN PEACE.
We come in peace, bringing you queer films rarely seen on the big screen. For it's 4th festival, The OUTer Gay and Lesbian Science Fiction/Fantasy Film Festival invited you to an ENCORE Presentation of films from OUTer's past as it boldly continued to fullfill its mission. But for the festival to evolve, the festival needed to change. For the past four years, the founder and program director of festival has been producing this one of a kind festival for both the filmmakers and the movie goers who enjoy films about science, fantasy and things that go bump in the night. And for those past four years, the festival has grown. This growth included the festival's introduction and participation in Gaylaxicon, an annual event organized by the Gaylactic Network and held in various cities around the United States. OUTer has also entered into a co-operative agreement with the website DoorQ.com which shares a similar mission to that of OUTer's. And because of this growth, the The OUTer Film Festival wil be seen by more people than ever before; thus, the need for a change. Shortly prior to its November 3rd ENCORE Presentation, the founder Timothy Caswell took the first step in the festivals evolution and changed the festivals annual date to the late Spring. Coinciding with Gay Pride weekend in Austin. This move is an effort to increase the visability of the festival and to allow for greater exposure for the film-makers it supports. Other minor changes are also in the works, but for OUTer's mission, it remains the same. We came in peace and found that we are not alone.
Welcome to OUTer!
