Since 2004, Austin has become the center of the Universe. Telecommunicating film and video in the genres of Science Fiction and Fantasy to the GLBT community and to other sentient life forms.
In addition to OUTer's annual festival, Outer reaches amongst the stars to bring new and exciting films by offering a competition to promote and encourage other queer space cadets to expand their own imagination and to take boldly take the audience where few queer film makers have taken them before. In the future, OUTer will begin adding workshops specifically in the writing and production of science fiction films during the festival for all film makers and movie goers. In addition to the festival, two special screenings will be held throughout the year to keep your fantasies alive. And for all you party aliens, a party is in the works for meeting strange new people behind the camera and those who want to explore whats out there.
OUTer’s unique and continuing focus is to enlighten, educate, enrich and entertain diverse communities about gays and lesbians in the genres of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror through the medium of film and video and to support, promote and to contribute funds to film makers or organizations seeking to foster similar goals. To do this, we need your help.
